Center for Family Business
Director: Ted Clark, Assistant Academic Specialist, Entrepreneurship & Innovation
A membership-based educational program, the Center's
activities revolve around constituent forums focused on the unique interests
of emerging leaders, successors and senior generation family members who
are stakeholders in their family businesses. The educational value of
the constituent forums is enhanced by a core program of executive breakfast
case conferences. The Center owns the most powerful search engine serving
family enterprise, www.fambiz.com.
The Center also publishes a newsletter, Family Business Quarterly, with
a circulation of close to 10,000 readers. Students in entrepreneurship
courses are regularly exposed to family business issues through classroom
presentations and may also be available for marketing and research assignments
in the Center's member companies. The Center serves more than 300 stakeholders
in more than 70 family-owned businesses. The Center also sponsors the
Family Firm Institute's Best Doctoral Dissertation Award. Founded in 1991.
