Division of Research Development (DRD)

Our mission is to serve as a proactive force in research development at Northeastern University. We provide support for the development of all proposals to federal agencies. To this end we provide the following services:

• Disseminate information on federal funding initiatives and opportunities to faculty, staff and students;
• Conduct online searches for funding opportunities using grant information databases and other web-accessible sources;
• Maintain a collection of up-to-date information on research funding and a database of faculty research expertise and interests;
• Assist faculty in project development and in the preparation, writing and editing of proposals;
• Promote and coordinate collaboration among investigators within and across disciplines;
• Conduct workshops on proposal preparation and project development; and
• Maintain contact with program officers and other functionaries at federal funding agencies to assist faculty develop and submit competitive research proposals.
